TERMS & CONDITIONS


Cost of Services, Details of the Move & Payments


  • Official quote request with the all-in offer will be sent by Avant-Garde Moving & Storage representative in the email written form. 
  • The quote is valid for up to 24 hours upon receipt  – after that price is subject to change due to the busy schedule and different moving rates for specific dates
  • You will notice that the price for the same move is different for any specific date due to the availability of our trucks and its subject to change every 24 hours
  • To reserve the moving deposit of 10% is required (with a $50 minimum amount ) and will be part of the total price
  • Deposits will be paid thru our online secure payment system with any valid debit/credit card
  • Deposits are refundable if the  move is canceled up to 24 hours before the  scheduled date
  • If the move needs to be rescheduled  deposit will go towards the new balance  and you can reschedule it up to 48 hours before the original date
  • The rest of the balance is due up to 1 business day before the move and needs to be cleared by 5 pm so we can assign the crew and plan accordingly
  • We accept all major debit/credit cards, certificate checks, money orders, and cash for the final payment
  • If you are using cash, certified check, or money order payment methods, you can make the payment on the day of the move before the crew starts working
  • Forman will do a walkthrough with the customer present to make sure that everything that needs to be done is accurate with the contract. 
  • Before starting the job customer is required to sign a Bill of lading ( BOL )
  • Upon completing the move, Forman will do a walkthrough of the new location to make sure the move is completed successfully and have the customer sign the contract for job completion 
  • We at Avant-Garde Moving & Storage will do our best to accommodate, meet  any buildings time restrictions but we are not responsible for those due to the unpredicted situations that can occur during the moving process
  • Avant-Garde Moving & Storage is not responsible for any road conditions and traffic delays
  • The arrival window provided is the window for the crew to show up at the first pickup location
  • The crew may show up closer to the earliest or latest part of the arrival window
  • Upon customer request we can provide a guaranteed time of the arrival at the pickup destination, fee will apply
  • Time is not a price factor on the moves that Avant-Garde Moving & Storage performs
  • Price does not include gratuity for the movers. Our teams are giving their all to provide you with a satisfactory level of service. The recommended amount of gratuity for good service is 20%( of the total bill ) in the moving industry


What Our Price Includes & Potential Additional Charges


  • Taxes are included in the total price sent by Avant-Garde Moving & Storage representative
  • Fuel, millage, zone & tolls are included in our prices if the locations are correctly provided to the representative upon booking 
  • Any parking tickets, muni meters, etc.  are the responsibility of Avant-Garde Moving & Storage
  • At the destinations which requires parking permits such as Hoboken NJ, the customer is responsible for arranging the one with city authorities 
  • If any extra items/service needs to be added on the moving day that is not part of the contract/original agreement the price is subject to change. Forman will report the additions to the sales representative and the customer will get an email with the adjusted price and has a right to decide to add or not to add additional items to the contract 
  • The moving crew will not move any extra item or do additional service required  until the balance payment is cleared
  • If, on the day of your move, you have additional items not reflected on your quoted and original inventory list, you will receive an updated quote for moving these items. Avant-Grade Moving & Storage Inc requires you to review this updated quote and will charge an additional moving fee for the transportation of these items
  • Your additional items cannot be moved unless the additional item(s) fee is paid at that time
  • If additional items need to be packed beyond those listed in the original inventory, they will incur an additional packing and moving fee
  • If a move involves any flights of stairs, a stair fee will be applied. If additional stairs at the destination were not disclosed to Avant-Garde Moving & Storage Inc during the booking process, an additional stair fee will be applied. 
  • If the moving crew is not able to find a legal parking spot within 150 FEET from the building/service entrance, excessive carry / Long push is subject to be added depending on the size of the move and distance. We would appreciate if the customer can be tolerant and understand that this requires extra effort from the crew and affect the estimated time of job completion or affect our daily schedule for later moves in the specific day. Locations that we refer to with this term are: Manhattan Mid-town and Manhattan Downtown 
  • Waiting time fee will be added if the delay is caused by customer or building management and may affect our daily schedule for later in the specific day


Furniture Handling / Materials / Packing & Unpacking


  • Basic furniture handling for the items such as bed, dining table, dresser with mirrors, etc that have less than 10 screws and not require special handling are included in our prices
  • For any special handling, the customer is required to report to a sales representative who will specifically ask for these items during the conversation
  • Avant-Garde Moving & Storage Inc is not responsible for any damage caused by assembling the furniture pieces, except the ones that can be properly assembled or disassembled
  • Due to the complexity of the specific items, it’s up to Avant-Garde Moving & Storage Forman to decide whatever the piece require special handling, additional charge, or not
  • Avant-Garde Moving & Storage Inc has the right to request an additional  charge for all the  items over 10 screws and other special handling pieces
  • Avant-Garde Moving & Storage Inc's crew will not assemble any piece of furniture that is not previously taken apart by our team
  • In the category of special handling, we consider items like Storage bed frames, all-glass top furniture items, china cabinets, pianos, delicate artworks, marble top tables, gym equipment, pool tables, couches/sofas, etc.
  • Avant-Garde Moving & Storage Inc has the right to refuse to perform any special handling on the day of the move if the one is not arranged upon booking the service
  • Moving materials that we use for protection will be taken off the furniture and returned back to the Avant-Garde Moving truck
  • Any purchased materials prior to the moving day by the customer will be left at the drop off location
  • Avant-Garde Moving & Storage Inc will deliver any packing & moving materials requested by customer up to 10 days before the scheduled moving day
  • Materials such as Wardrobe boxes, TV boxes, Picture boxes we use as a rental during the move and will be returned to the truck upon move completion
  • For customers that pay for Packing / Unpacking, we will perform the service based on the contract/agreement and provide all the necessary materials. In this case, the customer is just responsible to show the Forman of the crew what needs to be packed
  • The customer must confirm the functionality (turn on) of their TV before Avant-Garde Moving & Storage Inc packs it into a TV box
  • Customers packing their TV in their own box prior to the crew's arrival are responsible for any damages
  • If Avant-Garde Moving & Storage Inc is required to dismount a TV not listed in the inventory, a $50 dismount fee per TV will apply
  • Avant-Garde Moving & Storage Inc team will safely pack all the belongings contents by the rooms they belong and label all the boxes
  • The number of boxes estimated for packing can never be exact, Avant-Garde Moving & Storage Inc will not be responsible if more boxes than was originally estimated needs to be packed. Customer will have the right to decide on additional packing service
  • Taxes for packing and moving materials purchased by the customer are part of our prices


Storage Service Terms


  • Storage monthly fee will be determined based on the size of the move upon booking
  • Storage monthly fee is subject to change if the customer has more/fewer items on the pickup date
  • We only accept debit/credit payments for storage jobs and the storage fee will be charged monthly on the same day we picked up your items
  • Storage is climate control and items will stay wrapped and protected in the unit
  • We will not store any food, perishable items, and plants
  • Weapons, hazardous chemicals, and prohibited substances are strictly prohibited from being stored at Avant-Garde Moving & Storage Inc's storage facility.
  • Duration of the storage is flexible and the customer will need to contact the Avant-Garde Moving & Storage representative to schedule the move-out
  • For storage arrangements terminated within initial 10 days, customers will be charged a prorated rate. However, for terminations occurring after this period, the full monthly fee will apply
  • All the items are labeled with specific numbers and the customer may request a partial move for specific items
  • Failure to make payment or update a valid card will result in application of late fees and penalties
  • In the event that monthly storage payments are not received for a period of three months, Avant-Garde Moving & Storage Inc reserves the right to auction or dispose of the items to cover losses. Avant-Garde Moving & Storage Inc will not be held responsible for any damages or claims resulting from this action
  • Prior to scheduling any storage move-out services, any outstanding monthly storage balances must be settled
  • The monthly fee for all storage services will include Sales Tax


What We Expect From Our Customers


  • Customer or authorized representative must be present at the pickup location ( Power of attorney letter must be signed 1 day before the move for authorized representative )
  • We will do the follow-up call 1 day before the move to check the status of your preparation and besides all the questions we will ask you to send us photos / video walk-thru of the apartment/house which help a lot with the preparation for the move
  • All furniture pieces and drawer units MUST be emptied before movers arrival, except when the customer booked PACKING SERVICE with Avant-Garde Moving & Storage
  • If customer choose to pack their own items, they must use sturdy boxes and appropriate packing materials for transportation.
  • If you choose to pack your own glass, porcelain, ceramics, etc., Avant-Garde Moving & Storage Inc will handle them with care during the move, However, we cannot be held responsible for breakage and/or resulting damage to packed and unpacked fragile items.
  • All electronics MUST be unplugged and wires packed before movers arrival
  • We request from our customers to remove sheets/blankets/pillows from the beds
  • If possible we request from customers to leave the packed and ready boxes closer to the apartment/building entrance since these are the first items movers will pickup upon starting the job
  • We request from the customer not to pack books and weights  in large moving boxes 
  • Food and perishable items can only be packed and moved Locally
  • All items that contain water inside them are supposed to be emptied out, such as the aquarium, large water barrels, etc.
  • The customer is required  to sign the TV condition form and the contract handed by Forman at both pickup & delivery locations


Long-Distance Service Terms


  • There are 3 types of Long-distance moves: Consolidated move with flexible delivery window, Exclusive move with the guaranteed delivery day, and Express delivery with short delivery window
  • For  Consolidated Long-distance moves Avant-Garde Moving & Storage reserves the right to hire 3rd party professional provider to deliver your items to the destination with the 53ft long truck
  • If the 53ft truck can’t access the location at the delivery shuttle truck fee may apply based on the actual size of the move. We will advise regarding this matter upon booking with the customer
  • The maximum amount for Shuttle truck fee is $300
  • If any claim occur caused by 3rd party professional provider at the delivery, a claim request must be filed with Avant-Garde Moving & Storage
  • For Consolidated Long-distance moves window for delivery will be provided to the customer. The customer is responsible to advise with the First available ready date to receive the shipment (FAAD) at the destination. Starting from that day the window for the delivery will be calculated
  • Up to 30 days of storage in transit is a service that we offer for the customers that are not ready to receive the items immediately


Hourly Moves


  • Customers must specify requested hours for hourly moving services when booking


  • The moving crew will strive to complete services promptly and safely to the best of their ability, and will not be held responsible for any additional hours or fees accrued by the customer


  • Customers are responsible for payment if additional time is needed beyond the original quote or if they request additional time.


  • Additional time will be billed at the agreed hourly rate, payable before completion of services.



Insurance for the Belongings, COI Insurance Certificate & Claims


  • Your belongings will be covered with basic insurance 0.60 cents per pound per article which is included in all the prices and required by the Department of transportation
  • You can ask your sales representative and add additional insurance thru Avant-Garde Moving & Storage
  • You can purchase additional insurance thru 3rd party. Please check  bakerintl.com or movinginsurance.com for more information.
  • COi ( Certificate of insurance ) for the building can be provided upon request. There is no additional charge for providing the COi, please ask your sales representative for the procedure of getting one
  • COi ( Certificate of insurance ) covers building property, not your personal belongings
  • We started a company with the unique goal of providing the  State of the art level of moving service and experience and take care of your belongings as they are our own. Unfortunately, sometimes damages will happen and we are giving the best effort to answer those on the most professional level.All the claims are done by email and the customer has up to 30 days after the move is completed to file a claim report
  • Avant-Garde Moving & Storage feedback team will answer any claims within 15 days of receiving the claim report.




PRIVACY POLICY


  • At Avant-Garde Moving & Storage, protecting your privacy is a priority, and we are committed to maintaining strong and meaningful privacy protection.
  • We use the information to provide you with our moving services and enhance your experiences with us.
  • We collect basic information when you interact with us , such as personal information, addresses, and billing information which are safely stored in our 3rd party processing system
  • By ‘personal information’ we mean information that directly identifies you, such as your name, addresses, and email address
  • Your credit/debit card information is encrypted when it is stored in our system, protecting it from theft or internal compromise.
  • Information such as your name, phone number, and address may be shared with 3rd party professional provider for Long-distance deliveries
